ANALOG, NOT DIGITAL

Technology is everywhere - and there is a place for it - but the most successful events of 2020 are going to rely on good old fashioned touch, sight, sound and smell.  Guests love to see something that has been handmade - where they can touch and feel the work that goes into it and appreciate it even more.  A focus on the sensory elements of any event will have a huge impact on the success of the event.

NATURAL TEXTURES ARE HERE TO STAY

Jute to sisal.  Wicker to rattan.  And wood to stone.  Natural Elements, along with plants and grasses, are going to be the foundation of many events in 2020.  And if those elements are sustainable and organic, guests will appreciate the event even more. Bring the outdoors in in 2020.

FLOWER CEILINGS ARE THE NEW FLOWER WALL

Flower walls - we all love them....but they've been done!  In 2020 look out for more dynamic, structural flower/foliage ceiling treatments.  We started to see the trend of floral "clouds" but the full ceiling treatments will be bigger and better than ever!  And, often use far less flowers and greens per square foot than a traditional flower wall.

GLITTER IS CANCELLED

Stop using glitter.  Not only does it get everywhere and never go away....it's one of the worst things as it doesn't biodegrade and slips through water filtration systems.  Try colorful paper confetti or colorful sand and stones for added display pizazz!

FORCED PERSPECTIVE

One of the most fun trends happening right now is forced perspective!  An analog way to make photo ops seem big/deep/dimensional - especially when your event doesn't allow for much room!  Precise design and flawless execution is key.  Take guests to another dimension for truly amazing insta-worthy pictures.

DONATE IT!

There is entirely too much waste in events.  When you plan from the beginning to either rent or use recycled materials, you are setting yourself up for success....but when you need to buy props that may not be used again, eliminate the trash and donate them to charities like in your area or shelters that can use things.  It's a win/win .
